Beacon Street Girls Reading GroupWho: 5th and 6th grade girls
What: During this group we will be doing a variety of activities. Some of the chapters we will read together, some will be given as homework. Each girl who participates will be given a journal and have various writing activities as well as group discussion as we dive into topics such as peer pressure, choice and consequence, fitting in, making friends, managing emotions, and honesty Where: Counselor office, Rm. 1205 When: One time per week for 30 minutes Why: Our young girls are facing a variety of challenges and struggles surrounding these topics. This group will give them opportunities to explore and define their personal value system and begin to establish a solid identity. Both of these are crucial to successfully overcoming the challenges they face and will continue to face as they move forward in their lives. |
